More about me
My main research areas gather Big Data, Adaptive User Interfaces, Pervasive and Context-Aware Computing, Internet of Things, Semantic Web, Adaptive Semantic Middleware, Linked Open Data and Social Data Mining. In 2015 I have been honored with the PhD recognition thanks to my dissertation entitled "Dynamic User Interface Adaptation Engine Through Semantic Modelling and Reasoning for Mobile Devices", advisored by Dr. Diego López de Ipiña and Dr. Aitor Almeida.
In 2013 I spent a 6 week research stay at the University of Ulster under the supervision of Dr. Liming Chen.
I finished my degree on Computer Engineering in 2008 at the University of Deusto. Since then, I've kept "training" myself through the last years, finishing a MSc in Software Development in 2010 and my PhD in 2015 at the same university.
Past jobs
Research Assistant in the Internet unit at MORElab - Envisioning Future Internet research group at DeustoTech – Deusto Institute of Technology, at the University of Deusto. I've been working in this group between 2008 and 2015 taking part in some local, national and European research projects (PIRAmIDE, ACROSS, THOFU, DYNUI, MUGGES...) and different proposals. I have collaborated with other research projects, like mCiudad and Zebra Crossing ZXing (see the official announcement here). Besides, I have taken active part in many scientific publications related with these research projects.
Awards
- In 2008 I was honored with the Best Student Final Degree Project in Computer Engineering by the University of Deusto for "SMIT - Desing and implementation of traffic violations monitoring system".
- In March 7, 2012, I was honored again with the Via Inteligente Awards with several colleges thanks to the AssistedCity project (as a demonstrator of the Imhotep user interface adaptation framework).
